“Back by popular demand, use lines to lead the viewer to your subject.”
This was a fun theme and I had several different ideas. This week the weather was rainy, so I didn’t have too many nice days to work on them. I took most of my best shots on Friday, the BEST day for photos in a long time.
Life is in the details. Get in close and show us the details we usually miss. You don’t need a macro lens to shoot a macro shot.
I love shooting macro, so this week was very fun for me!
Minimize the composition to isolate your subject. The composition should be simple, thereby drawing your viewer to the subject.
This is probably one of my most favorite “themes” in my photography. I also had a lot more time this week to take a wider variety of photos on the theme.
I should have been at the agility trial watching Dolly earn her first MACH, but, instead, I was down in my back. However, the good news was, I was able to photo and enjoy Summer Sausage Weekend. We were happy to have Garland here for the first time in several years. What a great group of guys!
I know, I know. Yuck. Selective color can be cringeworthy, however, when done right, it brings compelling focus to the subject.
I really like this theme! Once again, we were busy traveling, but I did manage to get some nice, color flower photos in California!
I saw this poppy the evening before and made a plan to photo it when the morning sun hit it. The flower was brightened, and the background was darkened! Perfect for the theme without any post-processing.
I tried to shoot all the photos for this week without digital manipulation, but did do a radial filter on this shot to de-saturate the greenery around the flower.
Same color treatment with this photo.
Nice picture, but not as much color difference as I need for the theme.
Another nice picture, but not as much color difference as I need for the theme.
I wasn’t sure how this one would turn out. For sure it had color difference!
Abandoned and Forgotten were favorites in the past. Let’s revisit the idea the idea this year with forsaken.
This week was pretty busy for us with the school and all, but I managed to find three different “models” for this theme. I think I did the best with the old international truck. And, I think my favorite for the theme is the close-up of the headlight on the truck.
