Archives for Sayings
I was visiting with a friend who lost her son in 1999. She told me this:
Today I was feeling sorry for myself as I get older, forget more things, can’t do the physical things I used to, can’t see without glasses, etc. etc. when I came across this saying which I saved from reading long ago.
I took this photo August 4, but then thought of putting it together with this neat saying this morning.
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous,
You are a child of God.
Your playing small does not serve the world.
It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone.
And as we let our own light shine,
—Marianne Williamson, from “A Return to Love”
Popularized when spoken by Nelson Mandela in his 1994 Inaugural speech
I took this photo this morning—pretty cool cloud/sun/tree combo.
